[Gallery] POSTER : my kind of design #inspiration

Typically posters include both textual and graphic elements, although a poster may be either wholly graphical or wholly text. Posters are designed to be both eye-catching and convey information.

Design student Amanda Macedo gathered a bunch of very cool posters created by all sorts of users from the Behance Network.

A little Interface humor

Someone post this on twitter  a weeks ago, doing some research with a little help from google i found the creators: Brad Colbow and Brad Dielman,  graphic designers in Cleveland Ohio who weekly release “The Brads“, their comic strip.

Grunge design isn’t dead, is in zombie mode

Sometime between the morning coffee and the “get mail” button stomp with a good article about grunge design, decosntruction and what has been of it in the past decade. The author list examples of agencies and designers keeping the movement alive and responsible for the evolution and possible decay of it.

They say David Carson is the “father of grunge” because he rejected typical type layouts and played with non-mainstream techniques to achieve different results. He surrounded himself in the Southern California surf/skate culture in the late 80s and early 90s where he began to make his mark. This went on to help define the visual aesthetic for surf/skate culture as fans began to identify with it.

30 clean logos

Logos are everywhere, and every one of them is a visual element that serves basic functions :

Identification

A logo identifies your company, represents you to the outside world. Often it’s the first thing a potential customer sees.

Distinction

Your logo will distinguish you from your competition providing a way for customers to recognize and select you amidst others.

Communication

It communicates something direct, and sometimes subtle about your company. What does your logo say about your company? Classy? Trustworthy? Serious? or Unprofessional? Sloppy? Outdated?
